Position: Video Relay Interpreter
Reports To: Call Center Manager
PAH Relay is committed to providing VRS in a way that values interpreters and the Deaf community. We are currently seeking experienced, self-driven Video Relay Interpreters, who are committed to providing outstanding customer service. Interpreters should be fluent in ASL and English and possess a high level of interpreting skills. Thorough knowledge and application of the RID Code of Professional Conduct is required.
Your essential duties will include:
Video Interpreting
- Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior at all times.
- Provide the highest level of commitment to outstanding customer service to all consumers.
- Work collaboratively with the company and other VI’s to meet our customer service expectations.
- Support a collaborative, supportive and positive work environment through active and creative participation.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of the Deaf community.
- Strictly follow all FCC regulations of VRS.
- Strictly follow all PAH Relay’s methods and procedures.
- Commit to an individualized professional development plan.
- Complete all documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
- Possess basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Thrive with minimal supervision.
- Provide local marketing support in the community.
Position Requirements
- National or State Certification at or above NAD IV or RID Interpreter Certifications;
- Three or more years of community and/or video relay interpreting experience is preferred;
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously;
- Excellent oral, and written communication ability;
- Polished presentation and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships with internal and external customers, particularly in difficult or challenging situations.
